Early Life
He was born on 5th November 1988. The place of his birth was Delhi. His father was a criminal lawyer. His mother was a housewife. Out of all the three siblings, he is the youngest one. Ever since he was 3, he developed a love for cricket. His father used to bowl while he swung the bat.
Schooling and Childhood
He went to Vishal Bharti School in Delhi. When he was nine years old, he joined a cricket academy. His father admitted him into the academy when the neighbours spoke highly of his performance. In 2006 he went through a tough time while dealing with the loss of his father.
Youth Cricket
In the year 2002, he played the first Under-15 match representing Delhi. It was Polly Umrigar Trophy. He scored the highest runs in that match. After that, he was promoted to captain.
After two years, he went to play for the Under-17 team. It was Vijay merchant Trophy. He was the top scorer in the match. They won the trophy as well.
After that, he was selected for the Under-19 Indian team. He went on England tour. Team India won ODI as well as Test match series. He played various Under-19 series including ICC Cricket World Cup.
International Cricket
At the time of the Sri Lanka tour, Tendulkar and Sehwag were unable to participate. At that time, he was called to play as a replacement. He was the opening batsman and took Indian team towards victory.
Captainship
After being admitted to the official International Indian Cricket team, Kohli went on a run spree. He got the nickname of the run machine. Due to his amazing performance and command on the field, he was promoted to ODI captainship after Dhoni gave it up. He is the current captain of DI as well as test series.
IPL
He has been playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore since the beginning of the IPL. In the year, 2013, he took the captainship of the team. Currently, he is the highest-paid cricketer in IPL.
